Mazy’s Kleefstra Syndrome Foundation

We are a non-profit organization, helping educate others on Kleefstra Syndrome and helping others receive traditional and non-traditional medical care and therapies.

Meet Maslynn

She shows unconditional love to everyone (except our dog Lexi..haha).  She loves everyone and wants to show them by giving them hugs.  She knows Jesus and prays for people she just meets (even though they can’t understand her) and gives them a hug.  She loves her family with passion, sometimes so much it hurts (she likes to bite when giving kisses on the cheek..lol)  She wants everyone to be happy and will love on you if she thinks you are sad or mad.  She wants to be clapped for and told she has done a great job and wants to see you smile with joy.  She shows us how everyone should love one another despite their faults.  She loves to go to therapy, do therapy at home, learn academically and she tries from the bottom of her heart.  She knows what she wants though and is very bossy J. She tells the nurses what arm she wants her IV in and where she wants it.  She has an infectious giggle when she swings and loves to play tickle you.  She loves to play in the water, jump on the trampoline and ride on the golf cart.  Her favorite songs are Springsteen by Eric Church, Happy Birthday, and Silent Night.  She sings Jesus Loves me every night before she goes to bed and loves to be sung to; she loves music!  She can say I love you now and she tells us every night before bed and every other person she meets!

About Kleefstra Syndrome

KS is a rare genetic disorder and is characterized by intellectual disability and complex conditions.  KS is caused by a deletion or mutation in the EHTM1gene located in Chromosome 9.  We still have a lot to learn about KS.  The 1st person diagnosed with KS was in 2010 by Dr. Kleefstra.  Currently, there is not a cure or specific treatment plan.

Our Mission

To provide the funds for KS individuals to receive traditional medical and non-traditional medical care and therapies they need on an everyday basis to improve their life.  To explore different medical/holistic/therapeutic approaches to healing the damage this syndrome causes in their bodies and work with geneticists, doctors, and therapists to help lead the way.  Our ultimate goal is to help find a cure.

Please donate today to help KS individuals receive the care they need and help us find healing treatments and ultimately a cure!!
